Quick Veggies (in oyster sauce and pancake syrup)

1 packet of sliced pakbet veggies (squash, winged beans, okra, sitaw/string beans?, eggplant slices)
1/2 cup oyster sauce
1/4 cup pancake syrup
1 clove of garlic
1 tablespoon oil, preferably olive, soybean, canola, or coconut oil (anything has a higher monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat level will do)
salt, seasoning mix, red and black pepper to taste

Mince the garlic into 1-mm pieces as you heat the oil in a saucepan. When the oil has started to smoke a little, lower the heat, and add the garlic into the oil. When the garlic has sufficiently browned, add the vegetables. SauteƩ the veggies until the bean slices soften. Then add the seasoning mix, or the salt. Mix a bit, then add the oyster sauce. Mix again, then add the pancake syrup. Add the red and black pepper, cover, allow to simmer a bit, then turn the heat off.

Serve and enjoy. :)

Prep Time: I don’t think it reached 15 minutes. :p

If you want it with more color, turn the heat off after you’ve mixed everything. This turned out to be this dark because I kept the heat on, and I wanted it to appear darker, like my mom’s cooking. I gave some to my dorm’s super and she downed it in MINUTES. :p

Happy cooking!
